Is my egg incubator safe?!?!?!?!?

I have a friend next door and she has chickens 1 is a rooster so i have a baby eggs. it is a card board box with aluminum foil in it and it is a small shoe box which we will later buy a real incubator. or can u give me tips on improving it. i have a light bulb (40 watt). i hope you can help oh and what do i do when the chicks hatch. and can i mashh up some of the hens food and give it to the chicks if i cant i do have some chick grower i am just wondrin
