Did Warren Buffett become wealthy from Penny Stock investing?

According to his biography The Snowball he did invest in the Pink Sheets in his early days. But he did not become wealthy from it. And they were probably a little different than they are today. He became wealthy from investments in his Limited Partnerships and the Berkshire Hathaway holding company.
